Kotoka
International Airport is your gateway to Ghana, nothing beats that
feeling of touching down in Accra. The fasten seat belt signs goes
off as the scramble for the exists begins, the plane doors open you jostle for space whilst carrying your medium sized hand luggage whilst others seem to be pushing you in your back with hand luggage which is clearly over sized. You manage to make it to the exist to be hit by the sudden
swell of heat that seems to hit you so hard you feel like you have just opened the oven in mid flow. You then take a breath of the dry but
humid air as you feel the sweat start to build on out brow. You make your way gingerly down the stairs taking in the clear blue sky in front of you.
As you look up you are confronted with the vision of a massive tiled mosaic
wall which has on top the Akwaaba!.
The basics and the rawness of Kotoka International Airport, Accra,
Ghana makes me happy each time I arrive. Having traveled to so
many places around the world where you are confronted with the standard
yellow sign posts and the glossy advertising bill boards. Kotoka
International Airport, arrival has a magic about it that makes you
take a deep sigh and say.."Thank You I feel welcome"
