Kotoka
International Airport is your gateway to Ghana, nothing beats that
feeling of flying to
Ghana and of touching down in Accra. The fasten seat belt signs
go off the plane doors open followed by a sudden rush by all for
the exit. As you walk to the exist the sudden swell of heat hits
you hard. You are now feeling the heat of Accra Ghana.
As you take your first breath of the dry but humid air you may
start to feel sweat building on your brow. As you look down the
airplane stairs depending on where you have landed you are confronted
with this view of a massive tiled mosaic wall which has on top “Akwaaba”.
Akwaaba meaning welcome in Twi.
The rawness of Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Ghana makes
me happy each time I arrive. It makes flying
to Ghana even more exciting each time as you know you are home
and that you are in a very welcoming country.
The
beaches of the Atlantic coast are popular with visitors and Ghanaians
alike. Labadi Pleasure Beach and Kokrobite Beach, just 25km west
of Accra, are particularly popular at weekends.
