Happening from now till the 13th of August 2016 is the “Cornfields of Accra”. This is an art exhibition by the Department of Painting and Sculpture, KNUST, at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra. Works of selected artists from the school 2016 graduating class and other guest artists are being showcased. The works majorly focuses on contemporary art and allied practices.
Also happening in August is what has been touted as Accra’s biggest street art festival- Chale Wote. This festival which takes place in one of the city’s most historic suburbs, James Town, brings art, music, dance and other activities into the streets. It is a gathering of art and music lovers all over the world in a Ghanaian context and melting pot.

Activities and sights include graffiti murals, photography, theatre, spoken word, interactive art installations, live street performances, tours, extreme sports, a film festival, a fashion parade, food and design markets. Chale Wote takes place in the third week of August every year. Don’t miss it this year. Let’s meet to create and appreciate art the Ghana way.
